The F.C. United Soccer program was started with the sole purpose of providing home school students the opportunity to learn basic and advanced skills for the wonderful game of soccer, in addition to providing the ability to play on a team that is unlike most of the other teams in recreational and competitive venues.
Our goal is building teams that honor Christian values and whose focus is more on teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect than trophies and medals. Yes, we do want to have competitive teams who can play against the top teams in the state – and win – but not at the expense of giving up something that is more valuable; our testimony of faith and values by playing great soccer that honors the Lord.
The original plan was to offer this opportunity to homeschooled students only but I feel that it would be of great interest and benefit to open up F.C. United Soccer to families who believe in our values and vision, who are burned out with playing for teams whose only purpose is to win at all costs, and that desire to see their children enjoy the game through healthy competition.
I will be honest in that we have a long way to go. The groundwork and foundation is being laid down but we need more parents, players, and individuals to become involved and not be a spectator. Any worthwhile vision requires sacrifice and sweat equity but the end results will be awesome! If you feel that you or your family would like to participate then I would love to visit with you.
