Game Three: A Tough One!

F.C United Boys played our third game last weekend against a very good team with the final result ending in a 4 -10 loss.  It was a great lesson in that we won’t win every game and that we also must live our team values regardless of the game’s outcome.

My idea of success is not based on the win/loss column but whether our players play with excellent sportsmanship and teamwork.  I care about whether they show respect on the field to the other team, coaches, and referee.  If they do these things – and they definitely have – then that matters more to me  and this type of success is a bigger victory than winning any game!

We have a lot of work ahead of us in learning to play the game to the best of our abilities but I am extremely proud of these boys for where they are and with the different level of experience we have.  And after all – it’s only our first time to play as a team.

Keep up the great work and attitude guys and get ready for that double header this weekend!

Recruiting for Boys Under 14 and 16 Teams

I have had several people contact me about forming a U-14 / U-16 Boys team to play outdoor and indoor soccer.  If you or someone you know is interested in playing competitive soccer in these age groups, please contact me ASAP.  We are planning on starting a team for the beginning of 2008.

Second Game Down!

Talk about a great game last Saturday!

It started early with an 8 a.m. kick-off and Tyler being sick, but when the final buzzer sounded, F.C. United had a 4 – 2 victory! Travis scored two goals, Brandon had one, and Ben made an incredible long distance goal. Our guys all played their positions extremely well and they continue to really improve.
Congratulations to the boys on a super game and a win against a very tough team!
